THE EMBRACE

The brief for this new family home called for privacy from close and overlooking neighbours. As a result the house has been designed around a central decked courtyard which connects the adjacent rooms across the shared open space.

The design allows most of the house to enjoy a northern aspect for the maximum solar benefit all year round.

Polished concrete ground slabs and steel and plywood exterior claddings introduce a simple raw aesthetic that combines with sensitive detailing and practical eco-friendly design.

Large capacity rainwater tanks will harvest water for re-use within the house, garden and new pool. Smaller outdoor spaces of the play deck and entry courtyard encourage natural ventilation across the interior spaces of the house.
