The design for this house evolved out of a need to create privacy on an exposed suburban corner site. The heavy protective forms on the southern and eastern facades shield the house from the street. Inside, the folded forms create a series of generous interconnected light filled spaces.
The materiality of the building is defined by textural off-form concrete, crisp white surfaces and natural timbers.
The ground living level follows the fall of the land and is designed to allow for a family lifestyle structured around indoor/outdoor living.
The children's wing cranks to the west and shelters the pool terrace providing the three bedrooms with a northern aspect and views over the pool.
The main bedroom is priveledged to isolation and elevation. It is located with a study, ensuite and balcony on the uppermost floor and recieves northern sunlight and district views.
