'HANGING ROCK'

The dramatic undercut rock on the waters edge of this spectacular site was the inspiration for the cantilevered upper storey of the new house.

The unassuming nature of the street facade conceals the drama of the house behind. The ground falls away to reveal the long rectilinear form which compliments the rich organic nature of the site.

Views through and across the house emphasize the transparency of the enclosure and the tension of the dark clad upper level as it appears to floar above the lower floor and the ground.

The living level follows the gentle slope of the site and steps down to meet the pool terrace built adjacent to the creek.
